About Us
The Western Michigan University Student Media Group (SMG) was created in 2013. It brought together three student media outlets, the Western Herald Newspaper, 89.1 WIDR FM Radio, and Western Herald Video [formerly Young Broadcasters of Tomorrow (YBOT)] under the SMG umbrella to serve the media needs of the student at WMU. The SMG is supported by student assessment fee (SAF) funds.

All meetings are open to the public and typically last between 1.5-2 hours. Specific dates & times for future meetings will be announced soon. Typically meetings are on the 2nd Friday of the month at 2 p.m.
